Subject:Alcoholism
I need some help as far as dealing with and how to cope with alcoholism. My husband is an alcoholic and I am so afraid of him dying because of it. He has gone through detox several times in the past two years. When he comes through it, there is only a short time following that he goes back to consuming the alcohol once again. I feel so very helpless and don't know what to do. Can and would you PLEASE help me?! Thank you for your time and concern!

Subject:Subutex
This is my 6th day of Buprenorphine treatment and I feel better now than I have in years. I was abusing Methadone for 3 1/2 years. One day I'd take 3 days worth (over 300mg) and then spend the rest of the week without, in severe withdrawl. My clinic had no idea I was misusing it. I am so very grateful I found Subutex. My Dr put me on 640 mg Oxys for a week to get the Methadone out of my system so that I could begin the buprenorphine. I had a rough few days with dose adjustments, but now feel like I did before I began using opiates. Thank God for this medicine!!!

Subject:my story to offer hope
I just wanted to agree with the letters I read on the website.Im 27yrs. old with an opiate addiction since I was 17. I tried to quit so many times,so many different ways;7day detox then the blocker(trexan),30 day treatment then NA meetings every day(where I got even more drug connections),then I even tried the methadone program, which, compared to all the other things I tried, helped me stay clean(from heroin), for about two yrs. when I was terminated from the program for smoking crack.I was relapsed AGAIN for a MISERABLE six months. That is when I started to hear about this "wonder drug" called suboxone. My mom brought it up to me hoping she wouldn't start a fight,to her surprise,I was more than eager to have ANY way out of the hell I was back in.Long story short ,I have been clean from ALL drugs for exactly 30 days today!!!! My life is so so different from any other medication or program I have EVER tried. It's really hard to find the words that would convey the true depth of change for me....All I can say, is, if you are where I was, just tired of being tired, stuck with that awful ball and chain of whatever opiate(believe me heroin is the same as oxy's percocet, vicodin etc.)just give suboxone a try.theres nothing to lose, just a WAY BETTER LIFE TO GAIN! Sincerely, Shawna in Washington state

Subject:suboxone cost
I am 35 years old, and I don't have insurance. Since my husband died, they cut off my medicaid also. The treatment is quite expensive are there any assistance programs, or a generic form of the med coming out soon?

Subject:adjusting to suboxone
please help me, help my best friend and love of my life in finding balance with the suboxone treatment. there is much stigmatism surrounding the new treatment in the NA circle, and she doesn't want to continue it knowing that real victory (according to NA folk) is a false one while on suboxone. i am confused and want to know how best to advise her, as she is angry and bitter and irritable. i love her very much and while we have survived many bouts with binging, this is a whole new development. i am her biggest supporter, and she is my best friend and we need some advice.
