Subject:Tired of Methadone Clinics
I have been an addict since 1969. I am a professional. I am a fucntioning addict, always have had good jobs. Have been on Methadone now for 7 years. I have never had a dirty urine at my clinic. But the other day I felt like a child, the way I was treated, plus they took my take-homes. I need them so I can work the overtime. They don't care. I need not to go into that any further. It's time, 7 years, I need to more on. This probably was just what I needed. I had plan to stay on Methadone, my motto is if it's not broken don't fix it. Well, I want to try Suboxone, so I can get off all together. My dose is 85 ml. I never wanted to go in the high 100 dose. Anybody have any suggestions. Help

Subject:Suboxone Has Helped Me
I got clean for over a year through suboxone but I relapsed and struggled with my addiction for several more years. Now I am back on suboxone and staying clean. I am trying to get rooted in a recovery program so I can stay clean long after I stop taking suboxone. Sometimes I'm faced with criticism from my fellow recovering addicts because they view suboxone as simply substituting one drug for another. But, I know that without suboxone, I could never free myself from the physical dependency long enough to try to work on my emotional dependency. Suboxone has worked for me -- one of the only things that has helped me and I've tried it all . . rehab, outpatient, methadone, etc. But, like every drug, it can be abused. You have to be ready to get clean.

I am the mother of a painkiller drug addict. She will be starting the program shortly and I just wanted to thank you for the information contained here. I was not sure about trading one pill for another but after some research and your website it has given me the knowledge that I needed.

I recently got on the suboxone from my familt doctor, and I underdstand now how people say that it just makes them feel normal, not high! I can do the daily routines that the rest of the world have to do, but I would like to have someone to talk to and share with that is also on suboxone. Would it be possible to get an e-mail now and then of someone else that feels the way I do. Please, Thank-you Karen

Subject:taking suboxone to get off methadone
I am planning on stopping methadone for good tomarrow and a little scared of how I will feel. I have some suboxone 8 mg and only take about 25-30mg of methadone a day but sometimes in the morning I wake up very ill due to detoxing from the methadone and I know it will be the same thing tomarrow and I am unsure of how the suboxone will work. I hear all these stories about people switching to suboxone from methadone and for a full day they go through a tough detox, im just nervous about it.
